The company will operate the route with a modern Boeing 777-300ER configured in three classes, with 8 private suites in First Class, 42 bed seats in Business Class and 304 seats in Economy Class. Because of its great capacity to transport payment, scope and versatility, the Boeing 777-300ER is now the plane through which Emirates has underpinned much of its services, operating short-medium haul routes ranging from 30 minutes to services ultra long-haul flight and 17 hours of Dubai-San Francisco, allowing the company to have a global reach.
The launch of the route comes at a time when Brazil is attracting worldwide attention, to host major sporting events like World Cup Soccer and Olympic Games, in addition to its growing influence on the world political-economic system. In this regard it should be noted strong trade between Brazil and the Middle East, whose exports to Arab countries totaled $ 12.57 billion, representing an annual growth of 34%, while imports were closed last year with U.S. $ 6.96 billion, an increase of 33% compared to 2009. Since landing in the region, Emirates has stressed the importance of Brazil as a cornerstone in its expansion plan in South America, indicating through the press of the Middle East that the airline was willing to continue increasing its presence in the region through Brazil.
In this regard, the announcement released today is consistent with the strategy proposed by the company for several years, which provided for a gradual arrival in each country starting with Brazil, Argentina then to continue with other countries such as Chile and the Andean countries. For this, the UAE has undertaken to transport air as a central hub in trade and have been driving a series of trade agreements and open skies with other countries in the region, which provide the necessary tools for their airlines entering new markets. In December 2010, the State of Chile and the United Arab Emirates signed an open skies agreement, which establishes the complete opening of the heavens including 5th freedom rights.
Emirates So far has not announced what their step in the region, which is associated with the introduction of new long-range material (Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER) and the study of different alternative routes that can maintain the operation.
Emirates The increased presence is partly a reflection of the boom that the region is experiencing, which increased trade and the establishment of new tools, such as opening of the heavens, is facilitating the arrival of more airlines countries, either directly as has happened in Brazil or indirectly through codesharing and interline agreements.
